Prep n' Generals

I am pleased to provide you with a strong letter of support for the Alumni Organization, entitled Prep n Generals, a collaborative with our Alumni, our school, our community, and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). As Principal of Washington Preparatory High School, I endorse their goals and anticipate that in achieving them they will help extend the significant advances in student achievement and school pride that has been rekindled by your wonderful organization’s effort. I salute you all for this. You are making a difference.

Past support has been tremendous in helping the school achieving key test participations rates, school attendance increases, fund raising events that include our current Generals, and of course our most recent gain in school Academic Performance Index (API) of over 30 points could not have been accomplished without the vision, leadership, and understanding of Prep N Generals. You truly know what “Worthy Deeds Harmoniously Achieved” embodies.

Much remains to be accomplished as we set our targets on providing a world class school and quality of opportunity for every child in a safe and caring environment. Our goals for this is year are to match participation rates of late, increase school attendance by 1 %, increase graduation rates by 10 %, and set our target for reaching the 600 mark in school API. We have many challenges as a newly assigned Public Choice School to keep Washington “Washington.” With your help we feel sure to succeed

In summary, the current Generals are pleased to support the key contributions of the Prep n General Alumni Organization while we all continue to focus on General spirit and pride and increased student achievement. Remember: Once a General; Always a General!
